2017 Awards

It was a real boost to Stephen and I to recently receive in the post our 2017 McKenna’s Guide “Best in Ireland” award. The excitement and pride of opening up the package and reading John and Sally McKenna’s fabulous review of Dunowen House was every bit as good this year as it was in 2016.

It really is inspiring for us to enter a new year with such welcome praise from these industry experts. Combined with the amazing guest feedback we’ve been getting on our Tripadvisor pages, we are so motivated to keep improving our offering and delivering the best possible experience for our guests here.

Some days it’s hard to believe we are only going into our fourth year of being open for business here at Dunowen. It often feels like we’ve lived here for ever and I mean that in the best possible way. I think this is the year we come up for air, now that all the big refurbishment projects are finished. There’s still plenty of (slightly) smaller projects to keep us busy, as well as the day to day running of the house and the welcoming of our great guests.

We look forward to the year ahead, to welcoming returning visitors and meeting new faces. We love hearing your stories and your West Cork holiday experiences - we want to make sure Dunowen plays a big part in making lots of happy vacation memories for you.
